Job summary

Rimond Srl in Milan seeks a BIM Structural Engineer to join the Structural Design Team in our Milan office. You will develop and manage BIM models for reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures using Autodesk Revit, coordinating with other disciplines to ensure consistency with calculations and documentation.

The role requires a solid background in structural engineering, proficiency in Revit, and familiarity with NT C 2018 and Eurocodes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (specialization preferred).
• Experience in structural engineering and BIM modelling.
• Solid understanding of structural systems and design principles for RC, steel, and masonry.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for structural modelling and documentation.
• Ability to develop accurate BIM models aligned with structural calculations and documentation.
• Familiarity with NT C 2018 and Eurocodes.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows, model coordination, clash detection, and CDEs.
• Fluency in Italian and English; willingness to travel when required.

• Interpret drawings, specs, and calculation reports to ensure BIM accuracy.
• Support integration of structural information across project stages.

We are looking for a BIM Structural Engineer to join our Structural Design Team in our Milan office.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in structural engineering, with specific knowledge of structural systems, materials, and structural design principles, combined with strong BIM modelling skills. The role will focus on developing and managing BIM models for reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures using Autodesk Revit, working closely with structural engineers and other design disciplines to ensure consistency between structural design solutions, analytical models, BIM models, and technical documentation across complex international projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and managing structural BIM models for new buildings and existing structures using Autodesk Revit.
• Producing structural models and technical drawings for reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
• Developing detailed structural models in accordance with structural design solutions, project requirements, BIM standards, and information exchange protocols.
• Extracting plans, sections, details, schedules, and other technical documentation from BIM models.
• Coordinating structural models with architectural and MEP models to identify and resolve design clashes and inconsistencies.
• Collaborating with structural engineers to ensure consistency between BIM models, structural calculations, analytical models, and design documentation.
• Interpreting structural drawings, design specifications, and calculation reports to ensure the accuracy of BIM models.
• Supporting the integration of structural design information throughout the different project stages.
• Participating in BIM coordination meetings and supporting model reviews and quality checks.
• Managing model updates and incorporating design changes throughout project development.
• Supporting the implementation of digital workflows and BIM standards to improve efficiency, coordination, and quality across projects.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Structural Engineering.
• Previous experience in structural engineering and BIM modelling, preferably within engineering or construction companies.
• Solid understanding of structural systems, structural behaviour, and design principles, particularly for reinforced concrete, steel, and masonry structures.
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit for structural BIM modelling and technical documentation.
• Ability to develop accurate structural models that reflect the engineering design solutions and are consistent with structural calculations and technical documentation.
• Basic understanding of structural analysis and calculations, including the relationship between analytical models and BIM models.
• Knowledge of applicable structural design standards, particularly Italian Technical Standards for Construction (NTC 2018) and Eurocodes.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows, model coordination, and clash detection processes.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and Common Data Environments (CDEs).
• Fluency in Italian and English.
• Availability to travel when required.

Compensation and Employment Terms

The compensation and contractual terms will be defined based on the requirements of the position, as well as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and professional experience. The expected annual consultancy fee for the position ranges from €30,000 to €40,000, to be agreed upon based on the candidate’s profile and the terms of the consultancy agreement.
