Jobgether is seeking a Staff AI Engineer for Payments Intelligence, based in Italy with a fully remote work setup. You will lead architecture and deliver AI-powered payment solutions at scale, building multi-language conversational experiences and production-grade AI agents.

You will guide technical direction, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive impact across markets and platforms.

Competenze

Extensive software engineering experience shipping production LLM or AI-agent systems.
Deep expertise in agentic AI systems: multi-step agents, tool use, orchestration, memory, and RAG.
Strong LLM application development skills: prompt engineering, evaluation, testing, and safety guardrails.
Advanced Python for AI/ML with backend engineering in Go and/or Kotlin.
Experience with model serving, LLM inference, and production cloud infra (AWS or similar).
Hands-on with AI evaluation and observability platforms (LangFuse, LangSmith, MLflow, etc.).
Strong testing and CI/CD practices for reliable production systems.
Proven technical leadership: mentoring, vision, cross-team delivery.
Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written).
Experience with fine-tuning, RLHF, or model customization is advantageous.
Familiarity with vector databases and embedding-based retrieval (Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS).
Experience building agent workflows (MCP servers or modern agent frameworks).
Knowledge of conversational AI, speech-to-text, text-to-speech; multilingual AI is a plus.
Background in payments/fintech or regulated environments preferred.
Experience operating multi-tenant AI platforms or GPU/AI resource management beneficial.
Familiarity with data pipelines/orchestration (Airflow/Prefect) and data warehouses (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery) is a plus.
Spanish proficiency considered an advantage.
Strong ownership, curiosity, and hands-on leadership.

Mansioni

Lead architecture and technical direction of AI agents and Payments Intelligence systems (multi-step agents, tool use, orchestration, memory, RAG).
Design, develop, and productionize LLM and agentic AI systems for reliability, low latency, and high-quality outcomes.
Build multilingual conversational experiences across channels (phone, messaging).
Develop AI solutions to retrieve payment info, recover revenue from failed transactions, automate internal ops, and generate merchant insights.
Establish AI evaluation, observability, safety, and guardrails in a compliance-sensitive, multi-market environment.
Architect data and intelligence products transforming complex payment data into actionable merchant insights.
Define responsible AI practices for tool use across design, evaluation, and deployment lifecycles.
Collaborate with Product, Data Science, and engineering leaders on cross-functional AI initiatives.
Mentor engineers, raise engineering standards, and elevate AI development across the org.
Own outcomes from system architecture to production deployment with measurable impact.
