Job summary

E-Geos, part of the Leonardo group, seeks a hands-on IT Infrastructure Engineer to oversee Linux and Windows Server environments, virtualization, storage and security across geospatial and defence platforms. You will manage identity, network segmentation and monitoring, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Hybrid work arrangement in IT Roma, with a focus on secure, resilient, scalable infrastructure for mission-critical services and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Solid experience with virtualization and enterprise infrastructure architectures.
• Good knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, routing, firewalling).
• Experience with storage, backup and data services.
• Knowledge of identity-management technologies (AD, Group Policy, LDAP).
• Familiarity with monitoring, automation and configuration-management technologies.
• Strong security grounding: hardening, least privilege, network segmentation and vulnerability management.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with cross-team collaboration.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and evolve Linux and Windows Server infrastructures for availability and security.
• Administer virtualization, compute, networking, storage, backup and containerized environments.
• Support secure operation of infrastructure for Earth Observation and Defence services, incl. processing environments.
• Manage identity and access control and network segmentation in secure setups.
• Implement system hardening, baselines and vulnerability remediation.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, automation and configuration-management.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and coordinate remediation with teams and vendors.
• Support migrations, upgrades, capacity planning and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with application and ops teams to deliver resilient infrastructure solutions.
• Contribute to evolution and continuous improvement of mission-critical IT services.
