Job summary

E-Geos, based in Rome, seeks an experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to operate and evolve Linux and Windows Server infrastructures, virtualization, storage, backup and containerized environments. You will contribute to secure operations supporting Earth Observation and Defence & Intelligence services, while collaborating with internal IT teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of hands-on professional experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Solid experience with virtualization and enterprise infrastructure architectures.
• Good networking knowledge: TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, routing, firewalling and access control.
• Experience with storage, backups and data services.
• Identity-management knowledge: Active Directory, GPO, LDAP.
• Familiarity with monitoring, automation and configuration-management technologies.
• Sound cybersecurity principles: hardening, least privilege, segmentation and vulnerability management.
• Analytical, troubleshooting mindset; able to drive complex issues to resolution.
• Collaborative with infra, application and operations teams; strong ownership.
• Good written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and evolve Linux and Windows Server infrastructures for availability and security.
• Administer virtualization, compute, networking, storage, backup and containerized environments.
• Contribute to secure operation of infrastructures supporting Earth Observation and Defence services.
• Manage identity, access-control and network-segmentation with high confidentiality.
• Implement system hardening, security baselines and vulnerability remediation.
• Develop and maintain monitoring, automation and configuration-management processes.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and coordinate remediation with teams and vendors.
• Support migrations, upgrades, capacity planning and lifecycle management.
• Translate requirements into secure, resilient infrastructure solutions with teams.
• Contribute to evolution and continuous improvement of mission-critical IT services.
