Job summary

JD.com Inc. is seeking an experienced Sorting Operations Manager – Process & Safety to lead end-to-end sorting operations and on-site safety compliance in Lombardy, Italy.

You will define standards, optimize workflows, and drive cross-department collaboration to ensure safe, efficient sorting processes. You will develop SOPs for all sorting procedures, lead safety inspections, and oversee hazard mitigation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in managing end-to-end sorting operations.
• Strong on-site safety oversight and risk mitigation.
• Ability to coordinate across receiving, dispatching, and transport teams.
• Familiarity with WCS sorting systems and equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Build and enforce full-process sorting operation standards and end-to-end on-site safety controls.
• Develop and update SOPs for all sorting procedures (receiving, feeding, scanning, sorting, bagging, dispatching).
• Implement safety rules for equipment operation, cargo handling, electrical & fire safety, and working environment; conduct daily inspections.
• Lead data-driven optimization projects to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks; verify results and roll out best practices.
• Formulate safety emergency plans and conduct drills; respond to incidents and document findings.
• Coordinate with upstream and downstream teams to fix gaps and train staff on processes and safety awareness.
