JINGDONG Logistics (JD Logistics) in Milan seeks a seasoned Sorting Center Manager to lead daily operations, drive process optimization, and ensure safety and quality. You will manage a diverse team, implement best practices in sorting, packing, and loading, and collaborate with transportation and warehouse colleagues to meet tight schedules in a fast-paced, tech-enabled environment.

Experience in logistics or warehouse management and a track record of reducing costs while maintaining service

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in logistics or warehouse management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably within an e-commerce or express delivery environment.
• Proven track record of optimizing operational efficiency and managing large teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of sorting technologies, warehouse management systems (WMS), and logistics processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational demands.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and quality management principles.
• Experience with lean methodologies or Six Sigma is a plus.

Mansioni

• Oversee all daily operations of the sorting center, including inbound and outbound processing, sorting, packing, and loading of parcels.
• Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize workflow, improve efficiency, and reduce costs while maintaining high service levels.
• Manage, train, and mentor a team of sorting center staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as sorting accuracy, processing speed, and delivery success rates, taking corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, company policies, and quality control standards.
• Collaborate with other departments, including transportation, warehousing, and customer service, to ensure seamless logistics operations.
• Manage inventory of sorting supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper maintenance.
• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
• Prepare regular reports on center performance, challenges, and proposed solutions for senior management.
• Handle and resolve operational issues, escalating complex problems to relevant stakeholders.
