KoRo is seeking a (Senior) Transport & Carrier Manager to own KoRo’s European logistics network, overseeing freight forwarding and carrier strategy across 14 markets. You will optimize delivery experience, enforce SLAs, and drive cost efficiency while shaping our carrier ecosystem.

Based in Berlin/Frankfurt area or Italy with regular travel, you’ll lead tenders, manage contracts, monitor budget, and collaborate with Retail Ops, Customer Service, Finance and Warehouses.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in food retail deliveries to major retailers in DE/FR/IT.
• Proven track record in managing freight forwarders and carrier tenders.
• Strong budget ownership, KPI steering, and advanced Excel/Sheets; interest in AI/tools.
• Assertive negotiation and proactive communication in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent English; German, French, or Italian a plus.
• Based in Berlin/Frankfurt area or Italy with regular travel.

As (Senior) Transport & Carrier Manager (f/m/d), you will take strategic end-to-end ownership of KoRo’s European logistics network – from freight forwarding (FTL / LTL) to our food retail partners’ distribution centers to B2C parcel delivery. In this key role, you will shape our carrier strategy across 14 markets, optimize delivery experience, and drive operational excellence as we scale across Europe.

What you will do:

• Strategic Carrier Ownership: You act as the primary owner for all Freight Forwarder and Parcel Carrier relationships across 14 European countries, driving operational stability and scalability.
• Commercial Steering & Tenders: You lead upcoming parcel carrier and freight forwarder tenders, own contract management, and conduct negotiations to ensure cost efficiency and high performance.
• Performance & CX Assurance: You monitor international delivery quality, enforce strict SLAs, lead regular partner performance reviews, and optimize Direct Injections and linehauls to reduce transit times.
• Financial & Cost Control: You take full accountability for the freight budget - one of our biggest P&L lines - establishing rigorous invoice verification processes, tracking market cost drivers, and eliminating billing errors.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: You collaborate closely with Retail Ops, Customer Service, Finance, and Warehouses to resolve operational flow issues while guiding and mentoring working students.

What you bring:

• Must have: Hands-on experience in food retail deliveries to major retailers in DE, FR, or IT (e.g., Edeka, Carrefour, Conad), including deliveries to central warehouses, direct-to-store, and retailer compliance requirements
• Proven track record in managing freight forwarders (FTL / LTL / groupage) as well as leading complex carrier tenders and contract negotiations
• Strong analytical capabilities: You are experienced in budget ownership, KPI steering, and advanced Excel / Google Sheets, with a strong interest in AI tools and process improvements
• Assertive negotiation and communication skills: You demonstrate sound business judgment, high ownership, and a proactive attitude in a fast-paced environment
• Fluent English skills (written and spoken) are required; German, French, or Italian language skills are a plus
• Based in Berlin, Frankfurt area, or Italy with regular business travel
