Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd in Lombardia, Italy is seeking a Manager Subcontracts to lead the subcontracting strategy for complex offshore projects. The role requires deep understanding of subcontract concepts and the ability to influence policy and improve processes while ensuring quality and timeliness.

You will work with Engineering, Construction, and Project Management to develop sourcing documents, manage contracts, and oversee administration, invoices, and risk analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering, or business.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience in construction or the oil and gas industry.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in procurement/material management including subcontracts administration.

Responsibilities

• Support staffing plans for project resources.
• Develop and maintain the Project Subcontract Execution Plan.
• Develop Subcontract sourcing documentation with Engineering, Construction, and PM.
• Review and approve tendering/award documents and recommend awards.
• Negotiate commercial terms with Project Manager and disciplines.
• Issue Subcontract Award and manage post-award administration.
• Facilitate pre-award clarifications, kick-offs, and post-award meetings; ensure minutes.
• Interface with subcontract coordinators regarding subcontract progress.
• Manage subcontract documents using EDMS.
• Perform gap risk analysis and participate in change/risk sessions.
• Reconcile and approve subcontract invoices.
• Handle invoice queries from subcontractors and internal personnel.
• Contribute to project weekly and monthly reports.
• Ensure compliance with McDermott procedures and audit trail.
• Support annual performance reviews for subcontract resources.
• Manage close-out of Subcontract Agreements.
• Record commitments, documentation, and payments in systems.
• Lead the implementation and verification of McDermott policies.
• Ensure staff understand responsibilities and authority.
• Ensure timely completion of mandatory training.
