Job summary

D-Orbit in Lombardy, Italy, seeks a Space Systems Engineer to lead end-to-end engineering of space-based solutions, from requirements to in-orbit support. You will coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders to deliver mission-critical platforms.

Qualifications

• Experience in requirements capture, derivation, maintenance and verification.
• Proven experience in system analysis, budgeting and trade-offs.
• Proven experience in system integration, testing and test procedures.
• Strong documentation skills and milestone data packs delivery.
• Experience coordinating multiple external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with ECSS and CCSDS standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and systems-thinking mindset.
• Fluent English; multilingual an asset.
• Deep knowledge of AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead lifecycle of system and subsystem specifications.
• Define architecture and design of space segment solutions.
• Perform system analyses including budgets and trade-offs.
• Prepare technical documentation and interface control documents.
• Coordinate with external stakeholders for milestone reviews.
• Support flight operations preparation and in-orbit anomaly investigations.
• Ensure compliance with ECSS/CCSDS and internal processes.
• Lead technical efforts in proposals and customer interactions.
