Job summary

Topcon Positioning Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and develop field survey applications used with GNSS receivers and surveying equipment across Android, Windows, Linux and iOS.

The role is hybrid: three days in office per week, with offices in Concordia sulla Secchia (Modena) or Ancona. You will work with Java and C++, contribute to new features, debugging, testing, and documentation, and collaborate with international teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development with Java and/or C++.
• Hands-on Android development experience.
• Strong object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures and multithreading.
• Experience with debugging, testing, documentation and version control.
• Knowledge of bug tracking (JIRA), CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Knowledge of C++20, Boost, ASIO, gRPC, Protobuf, MQTT, NMEA.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain field survey applications using Java, C++, and related tech.
• Implement modules connecting with Topcon and third-party field equipment.
• Collaborate with managers and teams to plan delivery schedules and quality.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve technical and application issues.
• Support mature software and contribute to new features, testing and docs.
• Provide technical guidance and improve software processes.
