A leading energy technology company is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their Industrial Energy Technology Product Service Engineering Team in Monza, Italy. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in engineering and solid knowledge of centrifugal compressors. Responsibilities include providing technical guidance, conducting root cause analysis, and working closely with cross-functional teams. Flexible working arrangements are offered.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a deep understanding of centrifugal compressors? Join our Industrial Energy Technology Product Service Engineering Team. Our Industrial & Energy Technology Business Segment provides industry-leading products and services that optimize the production and processing of energy. We help a diverse range of customers across the value chain to reduce operating costs and improve productivity. Product Service Organization supports Gas Technology Business in all the installed fleet activities related to operation and maintenance for our installed base. Senior Centrifugal Compressor Engineer is a professional engineering expert, with solid technical foundations on turbomachinery and deep knowledge of centrifugal compressors and their auxiliaries design basis, operability, and maintainability.

In this role you will use your experience and expertise to solve problems, partner to integrate customer data, deal with product safety, reliability, availability, maintenance subjects, and enhance services technology. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and to connect with customers and with key internal stakeholder functions like Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Service shops, Project Management, Sales, etc.

Responsibilities

• Providing guidance and recommendation for customer issues resolution, fleet issues, service bulletin implementation, monitoring and diagnostics asset definition, fleet configuration for installed base fleet.
• Delivering root cause failure analyses (RCA), defining the containment and recovery strategy.
• Discussing the outcome of the analyses with the customers and internal stakeholders; follow up with implementation.
• Developing new solutions with or without guidance or based upon precedents in the organization.
• Working together with business leadership: specify needs, share info about project approach and outcomes of job done.
• Working on cross functional teams, as facilitator or specific task subject matter expert.
• Working with our sales department to identify customers real needs and identify best fit solutions.
• Promoting mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in engineering.
• Solid technical knowledge of centrifugal compressors and auxiliary systems from a design and/or services perspective.
• Experience using design/modeling software such as parametric 3D CAD (NX or similar) and 2D (Autocad).
• Familiarity with compressor operability, performance analysis, process applications.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in both Italian and English.
• Effective problem identification and solution skills.
• Analytical mind and organizational skills; ability to manage several topics simultaneously.
• Availability to support emergencies sometimes outside normal working hours.
• Self-starter and team player attitude.
