Mott MacDonald is seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer to join the Energy Transition team in Genoa. You will lead the thermal engineering discipline across feasibility through detailed design, providing technical authority and mentoring a multidisciplinary team within an international context.

The role demands Chartered engineering status, extensive experience in thermal power or related sectors, and strong client engagement.

Competenze

• Chartered status with IMechE or equivalent
• Demonstrable mechanical engineering design/advisory experience in thermal power or energy/infrastructure environments
• Experience on international projects and with design standards

Mansioni

• Act as senior technical lead and/or technical authority for mechanical engineering on complex thermal and energy transition projects
• Lead the Mechanical team and collaborate across multidisciplinary project teams
• Develop and review mechanical deliverables across feasibility, FEED and detailed design stages
• Provide technical direction and ensure safety, robustness and client alignment
• Own technical quality for major work packages and contribute to proposals/bids
• Build trusted client relationships and present technical reviews and workshops
• Mentor engineers and support capability growth within the discipline
• Support work winning, scope definition, and risk management across opportunities
• Coordinate with process, electrical, civil, and other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions
• Identify and manage technical, delivery, and safety risks to ALARP standards
