Mott MacDonald in Genova, Italy, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Energy Transition team on a full-time, on-site basis. You will contribute to thermal projects from feasibility through detailed design, work with colleagues across Italy, the UK and internationally, and deliver high-quality engineering outputs.

Essential candidates have chartered status or progress toward it, plus substantial experience in thermal power, industrial plants, and FEED or detailed design.

Competenze

• Chartered status with IMechE or progress toward chartered.
• Demonstrable mechanical engineering design and/or advisory experience in thermal power, energy, industrial plant or similar environments.
• International project experience and knowledge of design standards.
• Experience preparing and checking mechanical design deliverables for FEED or detailed design.
• Understanding of mechanical systems, rotating/static equipment, piping interfaces and plant layout.
• Experience supporting owner's/lender's engineer, technical advisory or due-diligence work.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary, international teams.

Mansioni

• Deliver mechanical input to thermal projects from feasibility to detailed design.
• Prepare, review and check calculations, specifications and equipment schedules.
• Support thermal plant design, balance of plant and piping layouts.
• Provide owner's engineer and technical advisory support including reviews and due diligence.
• Coordinate with civil, electrical, process, controls and environmental colleagues.
• Manage work packages, budgets and programme commitments.
• Engage with clients, contractors and suppliers in meetings and submissions.
• Apply safety, sustainability and quality processes in design outputs.
• Mentor graduates through checking and knowledge sharing.
