Black & White Engineering, based in Milan, seeks a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to lead designing mechanical building services for hyperscale data centres. You’ll drive HVAC, cooling and ventilation systems and coordinate with electrical, structural and architectural teams.

You will mentor junior engineers, guide technical decisions from concept to delivery, and ensure compliance with industry standards while supporting a fast-growing, international consultancy.

Competenze

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer looking to take a leading role in the design of some of the world's most advanced data centre facilities?

At Black & White Engineering, you'll join a team at the forefront of mission-critical infrastructure design, delivering hyperscale and colocation data centres for leading global technology clients. As a Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer, you'll provide technical leadership across complex projects, influencing design decisions from concept through to delivery. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you'll help deliver innovative cooling, ventilation and thermal management solutions that support the operational demands of modern data centres.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems for mission-critical projects.
• Develop and review technical calculations, specifications and engineering reports.
• Design HVAC, cooling, ventilation and water-based systems for hyperscale and colocation data centres.
• Coordinate with electrical, structural and architectural disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
• Attend client meetings and provide technical guidance throughout project lifecycles.
• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across the team.
• Drive innovation and engineering excellence while ensuring compliance with relevant standards and best practices.
• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, chilled water, cooling and ventilation systems.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Data centre or mission-critical project experience is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and technical leadership skills.
