Job summary

Roboze, Bari-based maker of advanced 3D printing systems, seeks a Senior Automation Software Engineer to advance industrial automation software across PLC, CNC and machine control domains. You will bridge software, electronics and mechanics to deliver robust, scalable automation solutions for complex machinery.

The role requires hands-on PLC programming (preferably B&R), IEC 61131-3 skills, real-time system knowledge, and experience with CNC/motion control.

Qualifications

Degree in Automation, Computer, Electronics or Mechatronics.
5+ years in industrial automation software development.
Strong PLC programming experience, preferably with B&R.
IEC 61131-3 programming languages knowledge, especially Structured Text.
Experience with CNC, motion control, servo drives and real-time systems.
Understanding of industrial communication architectures.
Machine commissioning, debugging and troubleshooting.
Knowledge of industrial protocols and fieldbus technologies.
Familiarity with Git and Agile development.
Good command of English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain PLC-based software for complex industrial machinery.
Develop and optimize machine control logic and CNC functionalities.
Integrate PLC, CNC, HMI, sensors and actuators.
Develop real-time control applications for reliability and performance.
Coordinate IT/OT interfaces with higher-level software.
Collaborate across Mechanical, Electronics, Software and Testing teams.
Support machine commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, validation.
Diagnose issues and implement corrective actions.
Improve software architecture, coding standards and best practices.
Document specifications and testing procedures.
