Job summary

IMA Group in Bologna, Italy, is seeking a Software Engineer for PLC & Motion Control to design and program PLC software for automated machines and assist with wiring, safety logic, and commissioning.

The role requires 3–5 years PLC programming, knowledge of Structured Text and motion control, and willingness to travel. A degree in Automation Engineering or Computer Science and English proficiency are preferred; starting gross salary is €30,000 per year under CCNL Metalmeccanica Industria.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of PLC programming experience.
• Knowledge of Structured Text programming and motion control systems.
• Availability to travel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Hardware Designer to define functional specifications according to project requirements.
• Program PLC software for automated machines using Structured Text, PLC logic, and motion control systems.
• Experience in programming PLC-based safety logic.
• Install and commission machine software.
• Support HMI programming when required.
• Prepare technical documentation related to design activities.
• Support pre-sales and after-sales activities.
• Participate, when required, in FAT and/or SAT testing phases.
