Nokia is seeking a Senior Optical Transceiver Engineer to lead evaluation, validation, and introduction of pluggable transceivers (100G–1.6T) for Datacom and Telecom, working in a global optics team. You will define requirements with PLM and suppliers, manage RFQ processes, and drive automated lab validation and test strategies in a cross-functional environment.

The role requires strong project management, international collaboration, and extensive hands-on validation with experience in ITU-T,

Competenze

• Senior-level autonomy in a technical role.
• Fluent in English; Italian nationality; strong communication in Italian and English.
• Experience with pluggable optical transceivers for Datacom and Telecom (100G–1.6T).
• Experience in optical transceiver validation and laboratory testing.
• Experience in test automation of validation setups.

Mansioni

• Evaluate, validate and introduce pluggable optical transceivers into the product portfolio for Datacom and Telecom (100G–1.6T).
• Define application requirements and procurement specifications in collaboration with PLM and suppliers.
• Support supplier selection, RFQ processes, and vendor technical evaluations.
• Develop test strategies, coordinate remote validation, and execute lab validation in automated test environments.
• Manage projects and reporting, balancing planning, coordination, and stakeholder communication.
• Engage with cross-functional teams across PLM, Procurement, suppliers, and validation groups.
• Travel internationally as required to support validation and supplier engagements.
• Provide hands-on validation support and ensure alignment with product roadmap and quality goals.
