The successful candidate will become part of the Innovation Experts Team as domain expert in mechanical design and will be responsible for developing projects related to mechanical components and HVAC units using Solid Edge software and/or Creo CAD. Projects may involve the development of new components, accessories, products , prototypes and demo units to validate new technologies and components, feasibility studies, pre-design. Occasionally he/she can support R&D for product development (PMP), sustaining activities for active product ranges (PEP), or highly customized solutions for specific customers (CSP).

The role requires close collaboration with Innovation Challenge Leaders to define aspects of the project, as well as with the entire extended project team.

The candidate will also be responsible for part coding and the creation/modification of machine Bills of Materials (BOMs), carrying out cross-functional activities across the product portfolio, including the preparation of welding maps, when required.

In addition, the role involves participation in the early stages of product conception and feasibility studies, as well as the design and development of new products and subassemblies.

  • Perform 3D modeling using Solid Edge and/or CREO CAD software.
  • Produce detailed engineering drawings and technical documentation. During this phase, liaise with suppliers to clarify manufacturing and construction-related questions.
  • Manage part and product coding activities using PLM and AS400 systems.
  • Collaborate continuously with the Project Team to discuss technical issues, product costs, performance targets, and any critical challenges that arise throughout the project.

  • Prepare the Manufacturing Specification Document (CIS) in collaboration with the Production Manager and/or Plant Engineering Manager, ensuring correct registration and updates.
  • Support and supervise manufacturing activities, particularly during the prototyping phase.
  • Work closely with the Technical Support function to assess component non-conformities and deviations, and with Purchasing to verify supplier quotations for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
  • Promote and apply the 5S methodology.
  • Ensure all activities meet company quality standards as well as customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with PED (Pressure Equipment Directive) requirements.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation by providing images, technical data, and relevant information.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mechanical design of industrial machinery, preferably HVAC equipment.
  • Good knowledge of refrigeration systems used in air conditioning applications.
  • Ability to create refrigeration schematics in compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD software, preferably Solid Edge.
