Job summary

Deltatre S.p.A. is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer based in Italy to drive end-to-end features for iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV. You will refine requirements, shape architecture, and coordinate iOS engineers within the team.

You will work with Swift, SwiftUI, and Apple frameworks, ensuring clean code, performance, and maintainability across platforms. The role operates within an Italian contract and Scrum workflows.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' relevant engineering experience, including 2+ years at Senior iOS Engineer level.
• SwiftUI experience (2+ years).
• Deep proficiency in Swift and Apple system frameworks (Foundation, UIKit, AVFoundation, StoreKit).
• Experience with XCTest and app submission/code signing/iTunes account administration.

Job description

This role is offered on an Italian employment contract. Candidates must be based in Italy as we are unable to support remote working from outside the country due to local employment and tax legislation.

The iOS engineering team builds the applications that deliver Digital and AXIS-powered experiences to millions of consumers on iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV.

As a Senior iOS Engineer, you will work end-to-end on user-facing features — from requirements refinement through architecture, implementation, and release. You will help shape the iOS side of the platform, contribute to architectural decisions, and coordinate iOS engineers within your team.

Responsibilities

• Refine and estimate requirements; contribute to product and engineering planning

Requirements

You produce work that others can build on. You take ownership of features from refinement through release, and you treat the iOS platform as a craft — not only a delivery target. You make architectural decisions that hold up over multiple release cycles, and you document them clearly enough that the team can use them after you have moved to the next problem.

Required

• 5+ years' relevant engineering experience, including at least 2 years at Senior iOS Engineer level
• Recent hands-on experience with SwiftUI (2+ years)
• Deep proficiency in Swift
• Thorough understanding of Apple system frameworks — Foundation, UIKit, AVFoundation, StoreKit, and others
• Demonstrated unit-testing practice with XCTest
• Familiarity with Apple app submission, code signing, and iTunes account administration
• Comfortable with instrumentation testing and optimisation
• Comfortable with Git, build automation, and continuous integration
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Experience working with a global team or employer

Valued

• Experience with libraries commonly used in the team — Alamofire, BrightFutures, emitter-kit, Kingfisher
• Familiarity with Facebook SDK, Fabric, Crashlytics

Salary starts from of €30,000 at entry level rising to €90,000 for those with significant relevant experience. Process and what to expect

• Introductory conversation: a step for us to get to know each other better, and for us to answer all questions you might have around Deltatre.
• Take-home assessment: a practical exercise you complete in your own time, designed to show us how you approach a real engineering problem. We will use it as the basis for the technical conversation.
• 1-hour Technical round of Interview: we will deep dive on your experience and on the take-home assessment, and explore the technical decisions you have made in your past work.
• 1-hour Competency Based Interview: we will ask you situational questions around how you deal with real-life scenarios at work. Easier doing it, more than explaining it.
