About the Role

This role sits within Deltatre's Engineering & Technology function, spanning both DIGITAL Solutions and OTT Solutions platforms that power content management, personalisation, real-time data, and live and on-demand streaming for recognised media brands. Deltatre is hiring for two tracks - OTT Solutions and DIGITAL Solutions - both hands-on Senior Front-End Engineer roles for people who care about quality, take ownership of their work, and are comfortable in a cross-functional environment. The distinction between the tracks lies in depth of experience, scope of contribution, and degree of independence expected. The role is offered on an Italian employment contract and candidates must be based in Italy.

Key Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of features and solutions, designing, building, and maintaining high-quality front-end experiences across web and mobile platforms.
• Lead solution and feature design, bringing well-reasoned technical proposals through to delivery.
• Mentor mid-level and junior developers through code review, pairing, and day-to-day guidance, helping build capability across the team.
• Contribute to and evolve the shared component library and design system, focusing on consistency, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.
• Set a high bar for front-end performance by profiling, measuring, and improving rendering, load times, and analytics instrumentation.
• Collaborate with back-end engineers, QA, and product to define robust, scalable solutions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and front-end tooling, improving build reliability and developer experience.
• Stay current with the front-end ecosystem and bring emerging patterns and practice into the team.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Deep proficiency in React (OTT Solutions track) and in React and Next.js (DIGITAL Solutions track), including cross-platform delivery.
• Solid command of HTML and CSS/SCSS - responsive and adaptive layouts, flexbox, and grid.
• Proven track record shipping applications across multiple targets: web, mobile (iOS/Android), and connected TV for the OTT Solutions track.
• Experience building and maintaining component libraries or design systems.
• Deep understanding of front-end performance - measurement, optimisation, and analytics integration.
• Experience with RESTful APIs or GraphQL.
• Comfortable working within CI/CD pipelines and modern front-end tooling.
• Demonstrated testing approach - experience with modern front-end testing frameworks and a test-first mindset.
• Clear communicator who can articulate technical decisions to peers and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Self-directed working style: identifies problems, proposes solutions, and follows through without waiting to be asked.
• Brings rigour and curiosity in equal measure; takes quality seriously as a standard, communicates clearly, flags issues early, and is honest about what they know and are still learning.
• Must be based in Italy under an Italian employment contract; remote working from outside Italy is not supported.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in the streaming or media industry - VOD, live events, player integrations, or DRM.
• Hands-on 10-foot development experience across Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Apple TV, or Android TV / Fire TV.
• Familiarity with client-side data event instrumentation.
• Knowledge of Node.js, AWS (Lambda, S3, CloudFront), or back-end concepts.
• Curiosity about the full stack and how front-end decisions interact with broader system design.

Workplace

• Italian employment contract; candidates must be based in Italy.
• Remote working from outside Italy is not supported.

Salary

• Salary starts from €30,000 at entry level, rising to €90,000 for those with significant relevant experience.
• Placement depends on experience, technical background, and the stack the candidate brings.
• The role falls under CCNL Commercio | D.Lgs. 96/2026.
