Danfoss Climate Solutions in Italy is seeking an experienced backend engineer to design and evolve production-grade IoT services using Go, MQTT, Kafka. You will own end-to-end capabilities from architecture to deployment and observability, delivering scalable data flows and reliable digital products that transform industrial data into value.

This product-focused, autonomous role requires hands-on Go expertise, strong ownership mindset, and the ability to collaborate across engineering

You will design and evolve production-grade backend services for industrial IoT using Go, MQTT, Kafka, and modern distributed patterns. You own end-to-end capabilities from architecture to deployment and production reliability, collaborating across teams within Danfoss Climate Solutions. The role emphasizes building scalable data flows and reliable digital products that transform industrial data into value. This is a product-focused, autonomous engineering role with a strong quality and CI/CD mindset.

• Design and evolve backend services for industrial IoT projects using Go, MQTT, and Kafka
• Own capabilities end-to-end from architecture to automated testing, deployment and observability
• Translate product and customer needs into pragmatic technical solutions across engineering boundaries
• Build and improve event-driven data flows that reliably process IoT data
• Drive engineering quality through design, code reviews, test automation, secure development and CI/CD
• Investigate operational challenges and improve performance, scalability and maintainability of backend services
• Hands-on production software experience in Go
• Experience designing distributed or IoT backend services; MQTT familiarity; Kafka and Sparkplug B advantageous
• Automated testing, CI/CD and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset
• Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Experience with GitOps; TypeScript, React or AI-assisted engineering advantageous
