Danfoss Climate Solutions is seeking a Senior Engineer, Backend to design and build production-grade backend services powering industrial IoT. You will own capabilities end-to-end—from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment and production reliability.

Join the Digital Application Solutions team to work with Go, MQTT, Kafka, and Sparkplug B, solving complex engineering challenges with a strong ownership mindset and collaborative cross-team effort.

• Production Go software experience in real-world environments.
• Experience designing distributed or IoT backend services (MQTT).
• CI/CD experience and containerized environments.

As our Senior Engineer, Backend, you’ll play a key role in building the services that power digital and IoT solutions across Danfoss Climate Solutions. Your work will help transform industrial data into reliable, scalable and valuable digital products for our customers.

Working within our Digital Application Solutions team, you’ll combine strong hands-on backend engineering skills with a product-focused mindset, owning capabilities from service design and data flows through testing, delivery and production. You’ll have the autonomy to solve complex engineering challenges while continuously improving the quality and reliability of our solutions.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, build and evolve production-grade backend services for industrial IoT solutions using Go, MQTT, Kafka and modern distributed-system patterns
• Own backend capabilities end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to automated testing, deployment, observability and production reliability

What We're Looking For

• Strong hands-on experience developing production software in Go within complex, real-world environments
• Experience designing distributed or IoT backend services, including MQTT; experience with Kafka and Sparkplug B is considered an advantage
• Hands-on experience with automated testing, CI/CD and containerized environments using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong problem-solving skills and an ownership mindset, with the ability to take solutions from design through deployment and production
• Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across engineering, product and technical teams
• Experience with GitOps, TypeScript, React or structured AI-assisted engineering practices is considered an advantage

Compensation & Benefits

• Permanent Contract
• Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): Metalmeccanica Industria (CNEL Code C011)
• Annual Gross Salary Range: €50.000 - €60.000
• Bonus system: variable component expressed as a percentage of annual gross salary, linked to company performance.
• Salary review: conducted annually, based on individual merit and overall company performance.
