Atlas Copco Group in Padova, Italy, seeks a Software and Connectivity Engineer to develop and maintain our controllers and connectivity systems from the software perspective. You will analyze data to understand machine behavior and deliver insights to After Sales and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities include programming controllers and PLCs, developing software with C and PLC programming (Python a plus), designing IoT sensors, integrating Azure cloud solutions, and enabling data analytics and

Competenze

  • University degree in Computer Science, IT, electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with manufacturing companies (3+ years).
  • Experience with SQL, Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and Azure (3+ years).
  • Experience with programming languages (C++, Python) and Cloud/Edge computing (3+ years).
  • Knowledge of IoT sensors, signal acquisition and processing (3+ years).
  • Data analysis skills; ML knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in Connectivity Projects (3+ years).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with different stakeholders.

Mansioni

Mission

As a Software and Connectivity Engineer, you will be involved in the development and maintenance of our controllers and our connectivity systems from the software point of view. You will take care of the data analysis to understand the machine's behavior and deliver insights to be shared with After Sales and Engineering Teams.

The Role
  • Programming controllers and PLC.
  • Develop and maintain software solutions using C and PLC programming (python is a plus).
  • Design, integrate, and validate IoT sensors and connectivity technologies for machine monitoring and data collection.
  • Implement solutions for signal acquisition, processing, and analysis from connected devices.
  • Analyze telematics and IoT data to identify machine behavior patterns, detect anomalies, and support performance improvements.
  • Contribute to design, deploy, and maintain solutions within Microsoft Azure environment.
  • Contribute to develop and evaluate data analytics and machine learning applications.
  • Take part in connectivity and digitalization projects, ensuring seamless integration between machines, cloud platforms, and enterprise systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to test, validate, and continuously improve connected product solutions.
What We Expect From Our Candidates
  • University degree Computer Science, IT, electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing company (at least 3 years).
  • Experience with SQL / Synapse Analytics / Power Bi / Azure (at least 3 years).
  • Experience with programming languages (C++, Python, …), Cloud computing, Edge computing (at least 3 years).
  • Knowledge about latest IoT sensors and technologies, signal acquisition and processing (at least 3 years).
  • Data analysis skills (i.e. cleaning, pivoting, grouping, etc.), Machine learning skills are a plus.
  • Experience in Connectivity Projects (at least 3 years).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with different stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of Diesel engine controls (CANBUS J1939) is a plus.
  • Background in technical support or engineering of mechanical/electrical equipment is a plus.
  • Problem solving mindset and customer focus.
  • Analytical skills and time management.
  • Strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proactive and able to successfully work in team.
  • Good command of Microsoft 365 applications and AI technologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Available for national and international travel.
  • Fluent in Italian and good command of English is essential (both spoken and written).

  • Permanent employment contract under the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, classified as a white‑collar employee at Level B2.
  • Starting salary within the relevant pay range beginning at €35k gross per year divided in fourteenth month's salary and participation in the collective profit‑sharing bonus program.
