Job summary

Hitachi Energy Italy S.p.A. is seeking a Senior Project Civil Engineer (m/f/d) in Milan to lead civil activities for AIS/GIS HV substations and related projects, ensuring safety, quality, and timely delivery.

The role demands strong collaboration with tender and project teams and active engagement with customers. The candidate will review technical specifications, manage risk assessments, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to meet CEI/IEC and local building codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 5-8 years of relevant professional experience in civil design and management.
• Knowledge of Eurocode and related technical regulations.
• Knowledge of CAD and BIM tools.
• Knowledge of building law is an advantage.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
• Proficiency in English and Italian (mandatory).
• Licensed engineer with a Professional Association is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate civil activities (concrete and steel construction) for Grid Integration projects, ensuring collaboration with tendering and project teams.
• Support tender deliverables by coordinating documentation, producing engineering estimates, and performing risk assessments.
• Support the project team with claims related to changes in the civil scope, assessing cost, time, and risks.
• Collaborate with engineering colleagues to share best practices and drive continuous improvement.
• Engage customers as a trusted technical partner, clarifying requirements and presenting solutions.
• Prepare and review technical specifications and validate equipment.
• Examine static and dynamic verifications in steel and concrete construction.
• Review execution plans for concrete reinforcement and steel construction.
• Create and evaluate specifications; participate in subcontracts with suppliers.
