Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Automation Product Line Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Genoa Italy. We are looking for a technician with experience (at least 10 years post-graduation) in designing Automation software systems for all phases of the life cycle and in managing and coordinating teams.

Accountabilities

• Analysis and definition of software systems architectures
• Selection of the most appropriate technologies for the context
• Planning of activities
• Design and implementation of software components
• Managing the testing and deployment of software components

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Knowledge of software design methodologies (agile methodologies DevOps Test Driven Development Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Object Oriented Analysis)
• In-depth knowledge of containerization technologies (Docker Docker swarm)
• Knowledge of technologies for building cloud-native systems
• Knowledge of Javascript NodeJS HTML / XML HTML5 JSON Java languages
• Knowledge of graphical Javascript tools (Angular-9 AngularJs Bootstrap)
• Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle PostgreSQL MariaDB) and no-sql (MongoDB Redis)
• Knowledge of Version Control systems (git svn)
• Thorough knowledge of Linux operating system (RedHat Ubuntu)
• Ability to estimate and plan software development activities

Desired Skills / Knowledge

• Experience in the implementation of applications in rail and metro automation

Education / Qualifications

• Masters degree in computer science software engineering or equivalent degree
