Application closing date: 15.10.2026

Join a place where ambitious science thrives
Human Technopole (Milan) is a rapidly expanding life science institute where international researchers and cutting-edge technologies converge to accelerate biomedical discovery. Our mission is to transform bold scientific ideas into advances that improve human health.

Within this mission, the Health Data Science Centre (HDSC)at HT has been planned in partnership with Politecnico di Milano and is developing several lines of research, with the aim to help deliver a step-change in health data science in Italy. The Centre’s mission is to systematically generate, mobilise, and harvest “big data” allowing agnostic and dynamic collection of information, to deliver a new class of research that will enable a better understanding of the clinical, molecular, behavioural and environmental determinants of non-communicable diseases, for both patients and public benefit.

We are seeking a motivated Scientific Project Manager to support the activities in the HDS Centre. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of the HORIZON EU-funded PRE-CVD project, working closely with the Project’s Scientific Coordinator (Dr. Zuccolo).

Your mission
As Scientific Project Manager you will act as the operational lead of the European project PRE-CVD, working closely with the Scientific Coordinator, who retains the scientific direction of the project and final decision-making authority. You will take ownership of the day-to-day management of the project, ensuring its delivery in line with the scientific objectives, the approved work plan and the obligations of the Grant Agreement and the Consortium Agreement, allowing the Scientific Coordinator to focus on scientific leadership and research activities. You will steer the progress of work packages, budget and risks across the consortium, lead the periodic scientific and financial reporting to the European Commission, organise periodic consortium meetings and oversee project communication and dissemination. You are the central operational point of reference for consortium partners, HT internal offices and external stakeholders.

Grow your skills
You will enhance your scientific and professional skills by:

  • Managing project implementation and scientific delivery: Translate scientific objectives into operational plans; coordinate work packages, tasks, milestones and deliverables; monitor progress, timelines and partner contributions; identify risks and deviations; and drive corrective actions with the Scientific Coordinator and consortium.
  • Managing governance and collaboration: Organise consortium meetings and governance bodies, including agendas, minutes and follow-up; maintain an overview of project activities and status; and support effective collaboration between researchers, consortium partners and internal operational offices.
  • Leading administrative, financial and contractual management: Oversee project administration and consortium-level budget and expenditure; ensure compliance with the Grant Agreement, Consortium Agreement, EU funding rules and institutional policies; coordinate amendments; and maintain complete documentation for reviews and audits.
  • Coordinating reporting and deliverables: Lead the preparation, consolidation and timely submission of periodic scientific and financial reports, deliverables and activity reports, working closely with consortium partners and internal offices and contributing directly to their drafting.
  • Acting as the project’s operational interface: Serve as the operational point of contact for the European Commission Project Officer, consortium partners and relevant external stakeholders on administrative and contractual matters, in agreement with the Scientific Coordinator; facilitate efficient workflows between researchers and administrative offices.
  • Leading communication, dissemination and stakeholder engagement: Coordinate the project’s communication, dissemination and stakeholder‑engagement activities, overseeing events, news and press releases, website content, newsletters and social media.
  • Ensuring effective information management: Maintain accurate project records, documentation and archives, and ensure that relevant project information is properly shared and accessible across the project team and consortium.

Human Technopole supports career development through training, mentoring and dedicated learning opportunities.
