Job summary

AluK Italia is seeking a Master Data Specialist to join our global IT Master Data Competence Center. The role focuses on SAP S/4HANA master data governance, data creation and migration tasks across multinational units, including AS400 interfaces for France.

You will ensure data quality and timely processing within SLA guidelines. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in IT, Business, or Engineering and at least 3 years in SAP environments, preferably S/4HANA, with strong communication

The group AluK is a global leader in the design and engineering of aluminum window, door and curtain walling systems. With more than sixty years of expertise and operations in major countries around the globe, our building systems have been specified for many of the world’s most advanced and prestigious buildings.

Role

The company is in the process of rolling our SAP to all of our business units, replacing all current legacy ERP systems. The fact that AluK is rolling out SAP S4HANA and replacing the much less sophisticated legacy ERP systems, requires it to take a different approach on how we deal with master data. To support this move to ensuring more data governance, we are looking for a master data specialist to join the global AluK IT Master data competence center Team. Next to the SAP system the global team will also support master data creation & modifications in the AS400 system that supports AluK France. This will be done until that business unit moves to SAP in the future.

Currently this role is being performed by individuals in the business units but to become better at data governance, AluK feels that virtually grouping these individuals in a centrally managed team will be the correct approach on ensuring we get better at managing our master data and as a direct result get a better grip on the outcome of our business operational and decisional processes, and ensure quality and structure of data is always guaranteed.

As a teamplayer of the Master data Competence center, you will be focussing on 3 main topics

• Your main role will be to support the business units, that have already gone through the move towards SAP S4HANA, with their needs for master data creation and management. Within this role you will ensure business request are treated in a timely fashion (SLA’s will be agreed with the business units), that you validate the request on it’s impact on processes or other data elements and to guide the business and execute the tasks that will result in the creation/modifications of these master data elements within the agreed SLA’s.


• In addition to the main role you will participate in the master data migration activities for future roll outs of existing business units towards SAP S4HANA.In this role it is important to map the local legacy ERP master data rules to whatever has been set up in SAP S4HANA. Master data will miss attributes, requires to be transformed, but most and for all will require a lot of checking to end up in having fully qualified data in support of the more complex and data dependent SAP processes. High quality and completeness of data will be crucial to allow future business unit to test the SAP solution and go live smoothly.


• Considering that AluK S4HANA solution is using the Variant Configuration and the set-up and maintenance of the VC is in charge of the Master Data team, will be a plus if the candidate has proven experience on VC implementations and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the processing of master data creation and modification requests from AluK business unITS (business partners, materials, PP/DS & EWM settings, BOM, BOR, VC...).


• Evaluate the master data material creation process, and tools used, with the aim to simplify and automate this process for the end-users as much as possible.


• Do a constant evaluation of how master data management processes impact the other business & technical processes of the company


• Work together with our internal SAP competence center functional experts to further develop and support our running SAP solution.


• Treat all incoming requests within the agreed SLA’s and communicate regular status updates to the business units.


• Provide support to users on the SAP master data migration initiatives


• Identify and solve problems using analysis, experience, and judgment


• Perform analysis and effective diagnosis of clients’ requests or issues


• Demonstrate accountability and contributions to the successful realization of the group IT goals

Profile

• A minimum of bachelor’s degree in either IT, Business, Engineering


• English is necessary. Any other European language will be a strong asset, particularly Dutch, French, or Italian.


• A minimum of 3 years of experience of working in an SAP environment (preferably S4HANA). Experience acquired through involvement in international implementation projects, with cross-functional teams, will be considered a strong plus.


• A proven experience in working in a discrete manufacturing environment, preferably multi-sites and international.


• Self-directed and organized; able to manage responsibilities for multiple, simultaneous initiatives


• Outstanding communication skills: ability to deliver information in clear, concise, and relevant manner both in a written and oral format


• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience creating/maintaining/using the SAP migration tools: Migration Cockpit, LTMOM, LSMW, mass updates apps


• Experience in configuring SAP4HANA variant configurator is considered a strong plus
