Job summary

Distech Controls seeks a Sales Support Engineer (SSE) to join the Italian team, working remotely from Northern Italy (ideally Milan area). You will be the technical referent, supporting the sales team and system integrators in adopting Distech Controls solutions.

The role reports to the European Sales Support Engineer Manager based in Brignais, France. You will lead technical relations with customers, support presentations and onboarding, and coordinate cross-functional teams to guarantee

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in building automation.
• Experience in PLC programming across brands.
• Proficient with BMS protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, Niagara a plus).
• Knowledge of IoT/IT protocols: API REST, JSON, MQTT, IoT Hub, Node-RED.
• Knowledge of IT networks and cybersecurity standards.
• Familiar with cloud architectures and OT/IT/EDGE/CLOUD integration.
• Strong synthesis skills linking field requests to solutions.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication.
• Pedagogical skills and ability to manage priorities in emergencies.
• Willingness to travel 40% in the region.

Responsibilities

• Manage technical relationship with customers, including on-site actions.
• Support sales with presentations, demonstrations, and onboarding.
• Lead meetings with system integrators on tech developments and product introductions.
• Assist integrators on initial and strategic projects with new products.
• Design content and lead information sessions with Demand Generation teams.
• Share field experience with technical support and training teams.
• Collaborate with R&D and Product Management on future products.
• Contribute to product launches and company events (webinars, roadshows).
• Manage projects independently, coordinating departments as needed.
