Ecosmic s.r.l. is seeking a Research Engineer with 3+ years of experience in Mathematical Engineering to join our space-domain software team. The role focuses on developing and validating high-performance algorithms for our space awareness platform, combining software and mathematical modelling.

You’ll collaborate with space engineers and software engineers to optimize data pipelines, review numerical implementations, and ensure production-grade performance, with fully remote options from Italy.

Competenze

Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematical Engineering, Computer Science with a strong mathematical background, or closely related field.
Proven software experience in shipping code to production (1-2 years minimum)
Python proficiency
Ability to read and validate mathematically complex code
Experience with algorithm optimisation
Excellent written and spoken English
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international startup environment

Mansioni

Develop, review, and optimise mathematically complex algorithms powering our space awareness platform.
Work with space engineers to improve computational efficiency and with software engineers to streamline data processing pipelines.
Provide expert technical review of algorithm implementations.
Review numerical implementations across projects and algorithms.
Data structuring and preprocessing to improve data quality.
