Aurora SRL is a research company based in Roma seeking a Geospatial Analyst specializing in satellite applications to support Earth observation projects in environmental monitoring and spatial intelligence. This part-time, fixed-term role combines research activity with other commitments.

You will process satellite data from Copernicus and commercial sources, develop geospatial workflows, and deliver spatial intelligence products for researchers and institutional clients.

Competenze

• Degree in Geomatics, Remote Sensing, Geography, Environmental Sciences, Physics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with satellite data processing and geospatial analysis.
• Proficiency in remote sensing software: SNAP, ENVI, ERDAS or Google Earth Engine.
• Strong GIS skills: QGIS or ArcGIS Pro.
• Python programming for geospatial workflows (rasterio, geopandas, xarray, sentinelsat).
• Knowledge of Copernicus data ecosystem and access platforms (Copernicus Data Space, CREODIAS).
• Structured and organised approach to data management.

Job Description

Aurora SRL is looking for a Geospatial Analyst specialising in satellite applications to support research projects in Earth observation, environmental monitoring and spatial intelligence. This is a part-time, fixed-term position based in Roma, ideal for professionals who want to combine research activity with other commitments.

You will process and analyse satellite data from multiple platforms (Copernicus, commercial VHR), develop geospatial workflows and contribute to the delivery of actionable spatial intelligence products for research and institutional clients.

We are seeking someone with solid remote sensing skills and a passion for translating satellite data into meaningful insights.

• Experience with LiDAR data processing or photogrammetry
• Background in climate science, agriculture, urban monitoring or natural hazards
• Published research or conference presentations in remote sensing
• Experience with ESA or Copernicus-funded projects
