This remote-first role emphasizes async collaboration across Europe. You will drive reliability, CI/CD, and incident response, while fostering an engineering culture of ownership and pragmatic decision making.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in software engineering, 3+ years in Engineering Manager/leadership
• Led teams building distributed systems or infrastructure software to production
• Strong backend and systems programming experience
• Familiar with P2P networks and distributed protocols
• Excellent written and verbal communication for async remote work

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of distributed systems and backend engineers
• Drive technical direction and execution of core P2P, compute, and platform systems
• Stay hands-on with architecture, design, implementation, and problem-solving
• Oversee development of high-throughput distributed protocols and data distribution
• Ensure reliability, observability, and production readiness across the platform
• Establish engineering practices around testing, CI/CD, releases, and incident response
• Collaborate with Infrastructure, Product, Security, and Platform teams on roadmaps
• Run 1:1s, retrospectives, performance reviews, and career development conversations
• Translate priorities into clear execution plans and measurable outcomes
• Foster ownership and pragmatic decision-making in a remote, async environment
