Lever, Inc. is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to build scalable APIs and services powering AI-driven business communications. This fully remote role is open to candidates globally and requires strong API design and backend engineering skills, with ownership across the full development lifecycle.

You'll join a fast-moving team, participate in a two-week paid work trial, and collaborate asynchronously with engineers across time zones. Fluency in written English is required.

Competenze

• Strong understanding of web API architecture and design of scalable, well-documented APIs.
• Professional backend software engineering experience with ownership of projects from concept to production.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in an asynchronous environment.
• Ability to work independently and seek input when needed.
• Interest in the full product development lifecycle from research to monitoring.
• Experience in remote, globally distributed startup settings with fast-moving priorities.
• Fluency in written English; strong spoken English is a plus.
• Willingness to participate in recurring team meetings at 2:30 PM GMT on Mon/Wed/Fri.

• Design and develop highly scalable, intuitive, and well-documented APIs for new products and services.
