Job summary

Tesco is seeking an Assurance Assessor to lead Fire, DSEAR and PFS compliance across a large estate. You will act as the regional expert, coordinating inspections, evidence reviews and governance activities with maintenance teams and external partners.

The role requires strong technical knowledge, incident investigation experience, and the ability to travel regionally to perform assurance reviews and ensure safety standards are consistently embedded across the estate.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Fire, DSEAR, PFS legislation and standards.
• Experience supporting formal incident investigations.
• Ability to analyse data to inform decisions.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regional Fire, DSEAR and PFS assurance activities including site inspections and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with Fire, DSEAR, PFS regulations, British Standards and Tesco policies.
• Assess and validate contractor scopes, quotations, inspections and remedial works.
• Act as regional SME for Fire, DSEAR and PFS, providing guidance to maintenance teams.
• Support national governance to standardise inspections, maintenance and evidence management.
• Develop and standardise Fire, DSEAR and PFS procedures aligned with ACOP.
• Complete post-remedial reviews to verify corrective actions meet requirements.
• Collaborate with Tesco Business Solutions and external suppliers on inspections and reporting.
• Support improvements to systems, technology, and scheduling processes.
• Prioritise remedial actions with Property Field Teams and manage risk.
• Identify regional safety trends and support improvement plans.
• Provide compliance advice and risk assessments to senior stakeholders.
• Support incident investigations with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Travel across the region regularly to conduct assurance reviews.
