Job summary

Tesco Stores Limited (Tesco) is seeking a Maintenance Engineer with an automation bias to join our Property Function. You will maintain and repair cutting-edge equipment, prioritise safety and continuous improvement, and work within CMMS-defined processes to support a fault-free operation.

Key requirements include an engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3, hands-on experience with highly automated systems and strong root-cause analysis skills.

Qualifications

• Full Engineering apprenticeship and/or NVQ Level 3 in a relevant subject.
• Experience in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
• Hands-on work on highly automated equipment.
• Electrical/mechanical cross-skill training.
• Strong problem solving and root cause analysis.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Data analysis and presentation for timely decisions.
• Influencing skills and maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance to a high standard and log or repair issues promptly.
• Operate safely with dynamic risk assessment at all times.
• Build relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across departments.
• Monitor site performance and efficiency with available metrics.
• Be proactive with timekeeping and drive continuous improvement.
• Document major breakdowns using root cause analysis methods.
• Support budget adherence and cost-effective spare usage.
• Keep CMMS up to date and complete shift reports accurately.
• Assist in planning future replacements and budget considerations.
