Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Monselice (PD) seeks an R&D engineer to lead transformer-focused projects, perform FEAs, and collaborate with global teams on business cases and product introductions.

You will contribute to electrical design reviews and risk mitigation of new tech while delivering high-quality results in a hybrid work environment. The role requires a Master’s in electrical engineering with 2+ years in electrical machines or high-voltage components, strong problem-solving, and English

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent with 2+ years in electrical machines or HV components.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a structured, methodical work style.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office; Python knowledge is a plus.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders across remote locations.
• Experience with finite element simulations (magnetic/dielectric) is a plus.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).
• Experience with transformers is highly evaluated.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage R&D projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and with required quality.
• Assist R&D project managers across locations and with product managers on business cases and market plans.
• Perform finite element simulations for transformers for projects or troubleshooting.
• Design and review transformer electrical designs and supervise manufacturing/testing per specs.
• Assess and mitigate risks when introducing new technologies and solutions.
• Share knowledge via technical reports, specifications, and training.
• Document R&D results in reports and presentations.
• Support failure analysis activities and failure-prevention programs.
