Cummins Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer for its Quality Assurance Department in Cameri, Italy.

You will serve as the main quality liaison with customers and the plant, driving rapid containment of issues and leading structured problem-solving activities to root-cause and prevent recurrence. The role demands experience with automotive quality, proficiency in core tools (APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, SPC), and strong communication in Italian and English.

Competenze

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience within Automotive Quality or Manufacturing Quality.
• Experience managing customer relationships and leading structured problem-solving activities.
• Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and quality standards (IATF 16949, Core Tools).

We are looking for a talented Quality Engineer to join our team for our Quality Assurance Department in Cameri, Strada Provincial MFG DIST, Italy.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

• Act as the primary quality liaison between customers and the manufacturing plant, building strong relationships and ensuring customer concerns are addressed quickly, professionally, and effectively.
• Drive rapid containment and resolution of customer quality issues, minimizing disruption to customers while protecting the company's reputation and customer satisfaction levels.
• Lead structured root cause investigations using methodologies such as 8D, 5 Why, A3, Kaizen, and Ishikawa to identify, validate, and eliminate recurring quality problems.
• Implement robust corrective and preventive actions that improve product quality, reduce customer complaints, and enhance overall operational performance.
• Champion a customer-focused quality culture across the plant by promoting quality awareness, accountability, and proactive problem-solving among cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate closely with Operations, Engineering, Supplier Quality, Logistics, and Manufacturing teams to identify quality risks early and implement sustainable improvements.
• Support customer audits, quality reviews, and performance meetings by providing data-driven insights, demonstrating compliance, and strengthening customer confidence in the organization.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that reduce customer PPM, lower the cost of non-quality, improve customer scorecard ratings, accelerate 8D closure times, and increase overall customer satisfaction.

Education/Expierence:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience within Automotive Quality or Manufacturing Quality, with a proven track record of supporting quality performance and customer satisfaction.
• Experience managing customer relationships, customer complaints, and leading structured problem-solving activities to resolve quality issues effectively.
• Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and quality standards, including IATF 16949 and the five Quality Core Tools: APQP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and SPC.
• Experience within Automotive OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers, with exposure to driveline components, axles, gears, castings, machining, forging, assembly operations, or similar manufacturing environments.

To be successful in the role you will need the following:

• Strong expertise in quality management tools and methodologies, including root cause analysis, risk assessment, statistical analysis, and quality management systems, to effectively resolve customer and product quality issues.
• Excellent communication, customer relationship, and conflict management skills to build trust with customers, influence cross-functional teams, and manage challenging situations professionally.
• A results-driven and analytical mindset, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure, interpret quality data, and drive timely corrective and preventive actions.
• Fluency in both Italian and English, combined with strong leadership and continuous improvement capabilities, to effectively support customers, collaborate across teams, and drive sustainable quality improvements.
