LTH-Baas in Genoa, Italy, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead shipbuilding and marine projects through full lifecycle, including procurement, planning, execution, testing and handover.

The role requires hands-on leadership, coordinating piping, HVAC, interior/outfitting disciplines, on-site supervision, and close collaboration with shipyards, suppliers and clients. Domestic and international travel and on-board deployments are expected.

Competenze

• Proven experience as a Project Manager in shipbuilding, marine, or naval industries.
• Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from procurement to commissioning.
• Broad technical knowledge across disciplines such as piping, HVAC, and interior/outfitting.
• Experience coordinating shipyards, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Willingness to travel frequently in Italy and abroad and work on board vessels.

About the Role

LTH-Baas is looking for an experienced and proactive Project Manager to join our team in Genoa , Italy, supporting our growing activities within the shipbuilding and marine industry. We are looking for a hands-on and versatile professional with broad technical knowledge across different shipbuilding disciplines, ideally including piping, HVAC and interior/outfitting works . The successful candidate should be able to manage complex projects throughout their entire lifecycle — from procurement and planning through execution, installation, testing, commissioning and final handover. The role includes frequent business travel in Italy and abroad , including work on board vessels and at shipyards during dry-dock projects . We are looking for someone who is not limited to following established processes, but is active, takes initiative, brings new ideas and finds practical solutions to technical and organizational challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage shipbuilding and marine projects throughout the complete project lifecycle, from procurement and planning to commissioning and final handover.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, milestones and resource plans.
• Coordinate procurement activities, suppliers, subcontractors, manpower and material deliveries.
• Supervise and coordinate on-site works, including activities on board vessels and during dry-dock projects.
• Coordinate different technical disciplines, including piping, HVAC, interior/outfitting and other shipbuilding works .
• Ensure effective communication between clients, shipyards, subcontractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
• Monitor project progress, costs, quality and contractual requirements.
• Identify potential risks, delays and technical issues and implement practical corrective actions.
• Coordinate testing, inspections, commissioning activities and final project handover.
• Manage project documentation, reporting, change orders and progress updates.
• Ensure compliance with applicable HSE, quality and shipyard requirements.
• Lead project meetings and maintain strong relationships with all project stakeholders.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve project execution, efficiency and organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within the shipbuilding, marine or naval industry .
• Strong understanding of the complete shipbuilding project lifecycle, particularly procurement, construction/installation, testing and commissioning.
• Broad technical understanding of several marine disciplines , preferably including piping, HVAC and interior/outfitting.
• Experience working directly with shipyards, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Experience working on board vessels and during dry-dock projects is highly preferred.
• Strong project planning, coordination and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand technical drawings, specifications and different project scopes.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders, subcontractors and priorities in a demanding project environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project costs, schedules and contractual requirements.
• Hands-on, proactive and solution-oriented approach.
• Ability to take initiative, propose new ideas and find practical solutions.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Fluent Italian and English are mandatory , both written and spoken.
• Availability to work on-site in Genoa.
• Availability for frequent business travel in Italy and abroad, including assignments at shipyards and on board vessels during dry docks.
