Piloda Group in Naples is seeking a Project Manager – Naval Projects to oversee the management of naval projects within a dynamic shipbuilding environment. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree and have proven experience in project management roles in complex industrial settings, including naval defense.

Responsibilities include managing projects end-to-end, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and coordinating multiple functions. Strong project management skills, knowledge of relevant tools, and effective leadership abilities are essential for this role.

Competenze

  • Proven experience in project management roles within shipbuilding or complex industrial environments.
  • Military/naval defense experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools (MS Project, Primavera or equivalent).
  • Ability to manage complexity, prioritize activities, and work under deadlines.

Overview

Division: Piloda Shypyard; Location: Naples; Contract: Permanent

Piloda Shipyard Srl, a fast-growing industrial company in the shipbuilding sector, is looking for a Project Manager – Naval Projects to join its Naples Business Unit.

The selected candidate, reporting directly to Technical Management, will be responsible for the integrated management of naval projects, ensuring the achievement of technical, economic and scheduling objectives, in compliance with contractual requirements and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Manage naval projects from kick-off to final delivery, coordinating engineering, procurement, production, quality and administration within a complex shipyard environment.
  • Lead project planning and control, developing project plans (WBS, schedule, milestones), planning phases (design, procurement, construction, outfitting, testing and delivery), monitoring progress (SAL) and analyzing time and cost deviations, and managing budget to ensure margins.
  • Coordinate internal functions and lead cross-functional progress meetings to ensure alignment and smooth stakeholder communication.
  • Oversee technical and contractual aspects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, managing variations, supporting sea trials, inspections and final acceptance, and handling claims and change orders.
  • Manage suppliers and subcontractors, coordinating critical supplies, monitoring performance, addressing delays or non-conformities, and ensuring contractual compliance of subcontractors.
  • Identify project risks, define and implement mitigation plans, and prepare periodic reports for General Management (progress, costs, risks, forecast).
  • Occasional national and international travel to shipyards or client sites may be required.
Ideal profile
  • Master’s degree in Naval Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Management Engineering or related fields.
  • Proven experience in project management roles within shipbuilding, refitting or complex industrial environments (military/naval defense experience is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools (MS Project, Primavera or equivalent).
  • Good command of English.
  • Leadership, negotiation and problem-solving skills; ability to manage complexity, prioritize activities and work under deadlines.
