Job summary

ABB in Lombardy, Italy is seeking an engineer to lead project activities for protection and control systems. You will develop software for protective relays, validate interfaces, and perform FAT/SAT testing at customer sites while collaborating with teams and customers. The role supports hybrid work and requires travel.

Diploma in Electrical/Automation is required; a Bachelor’s or Master’s is a plus. Proficiency in HMI/PLC/I-O and ABB tools, plus Italian and English language skills, completes

Qualifications

• Diploma in a technical field; Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is a plus.
• Good general knowledge of HMIs, PLCs and I/Os; preferably ABB products.
• Understanding of control system topologies and communication protocols.
• Able to work independently and in a team; strong problem-solving mindset.
• Italian language proficiency and good English.
• Willingness to travel to ensure project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Act as responsible engineer for projects with varying complexity.
• Lead engineering development of protection relays and control systems.
• Program project-specific applications and ensure proper interfacing to other systems.
• Carry out FAT and SAT testing of protection and control systems.
• Create and review technical documentation for projects.
• Participate in commissioning at customer sites.
