Descrizione del lavoro

At Pillar, we’re building the financial operating system for the construction industry: the largest, slowest, least digitized sector on the planet. We closed one of the largest pre-seed and seed rounds in Italy (€15M) and we’re shipping the world’s first AI-first ERP for construction.

We ship something new every week and we want our customers to know.

We’re hiring a Product Communication Intern to do that. You’ll own the way our users discover, understand, and fall in love with what we build: feature update visuals, product newsletters, in-app tours and announcements, help center guides, and short video tutorials.

You’ll sit inside the product team and work cross-functionally with the Project Management, Accounting, and Core teams. Your job is to communicate every release clearly and on time to make sure users see the value of our product.

Offer: €800 gross/month + meal vouchers, 6-month full-time paid internship in Milan (Porta Vittoria), with a concrete path to a full-time role.

Why Pillar exists

Construction is the world’s largest industry, and one of its least digitized. Every project, every subcontract, every site carries the same unresolved problem: nobody knows exactly where the money is, who owes what, or when it will move. The result is delays, disputes, and margins that erode job by job.

Italian construction companies don’t have a work problem. They have a cash problem. Sites that invoice but never collect. Excel spreadsheets everywhere. Decisions made on gut feeling. Entrepreneurs who find out too late that they’re already in trouble.

Pillar was built to fix this at the root, with a platform that connects every stakeholder in the construction chain on a single source of truth: developers, contractors, subcontractors, artisans. From back-office documents to data generated on site, via WhatsApp, in real time.

We ship fast. To keep up, our communication has to ship just as fast.

Who we're looking for

You’re someone who genuinely enjoys explaining things: turning a complex new feature into one clean email, a 60-second video, or an in-app tooltip that just clicks.

You write well in Italian and in English. You know that good product copy is short, gets straight to the point, and respects the reader’s time. You care about details: the comma, the screenshot, the title that opens or kills an email.

You’re comfortable on multiple formats: a help center article, a GIF that shows a workflow in 5 seconds, a Loom walkthrough, a launch email, a Figma export for an in-app content. You don’t need everything to be perfect: you need it to ship.

Specifically, we’re looking for someone who:

  • Writes clearly in Italian and English: release notes, emails, in-app copy, knowledge base articles. Tone of voice matters. Spanish is a plus.
  • Can produce simple visuals: GIFs, screenshots with annotations. Hands‑on experience with tools like Figma, Jitter, or Canva is required.
  • Can record and edit short product videos: a Loom walkthrough, a 30‑second tutorial, a launch teaser, or a product tour.
  • Has a product mindset: you don’t just describe a feature, you understand why a user should care.
  • Moves fast and ships often: weekly cadence, multiple releases. You see the gap, you fill it.
  • Is curious about technology and the product itself: you ask the team how things work, you click around, you become the first power user of every new feature. Required: a builder attitude, some experience building things of your own, and a curiosity for experimenting with AI.
  • If you’ve already managed communication for a business social account, a newsletter, or a community.
  • If you have a background in communication design or similar.
What you'll do

You’ll own the full product communication stack. In practice:

  • Feature update emails: own the emails that tell users what’s new. Write them, design them, ship them.
  • Product newsletter: define the format, the cadence, and the editorial line. Make it the thing customers actually read.
  • In‑app tours, announcements, tooltips: design and write the messages that appear inside Pillar, defining what to show, when, and to whom.
  • Help center: write and maintain the guides. Keep them up to date as the product evolves. Add GIFs, screenshots, examples. We expect users to easily find what they need and quickly learn how to use Pillar.
  • Video tutorials: record short, clear walkthroughs of features and workflows. Edit them. Publish them where users will actually find them.
  • Visual content: produce GIFs, screenshots, and assets that make every release look polished.
  • Cross‑team coordination: sit with the Project Management, Accounting, and Core teams, attend sprint planning and review meetings, sync on what’s shipping, and translate it into something users understand.
  • Communication orchestration: we ship fast, so we need someone who can schedule content carefully, showcasing the value we deliver while avoiding cognitive overload.
  • Measure and iterate: open rates, click rates, guide views, tutorial completions. Learn what works. Do more of it.
  • Ownership and accountability: you’ll be the owner of all product communication. The opportunity to make an impact is huge: you’ll be the first person at Pillar to orchestrate the whole thing end‑to‑end. If you’re up for a challenge, this is the perfect one.
Tools

Must have:

  • Figma and/or Canva, for visuals, GIFs, in‑app graphics
  • Loom, CapCut, or similar, for recording and editing short videos

Nice to have:

  • Intercom (or a similar tool like HubSpot, Mailchimp, Customer.io) for outbound emails and help center articles
  • Notion for editorial calendar, briefs, and documentation
  • Basic HTML for email templates
What we offer
  • On‑site work in Milan (Porta Vittoria)
  • A concrete path to a full‑time, permanent role after the internship
  • Visible impact from day one: every email, video, and guide you publish reaches every Pillar customer
