Job summary

Koch-Glitsch in Vimercate (MB) seeks a Process Engineer to support mass transfer projects and provide technical and commercial proposals for distillation equipment.

The role requires hands-on process knowledge, strong collaboration with global teams, and proficiency in English and Italian. You will develop proposals, perform studies, and contribute to optimization efforts within a dynamic, international organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and hands-on process knowledge.
• Experience in Oil & Gas, refining, or related process industries.
• Fluent in English and Italian, written and spoken.
• Strong knowledge of mass-transfer operations (distillation, absorption, separation).
• Good communication, self-motivation, teamwork, and MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Hydraulic and fluid-dynamic design of mass transfer equipment.
• Process modelling of distillation columns, absorbers, strippers, etc.
• Execute technical feasibility studies and economic assessments.
• Prepare process and technical reports and commercial proposals.
• Support revamps and energy-optimization studies; coordinate with teams.
• Troubleshoot performance of process units and equipment.
• Prepare key process documentation (HMB, datasheets, specs).
• Participate in customer meetings and project discussions.

Process Engineer – Distillation & Separation (m/f/d)

Koch-Glitsch is a global leader in the design and manufacture of state-of-the-art mass transfer and mist elimination products for the chemical, petrochemical, refining, gas processing, pharmaceutical, and specialty industries.

Koch-Glitsch offers a complete portfolio of mass transfer solutions, including high-performance and conventional distillation trays; random, severe-service grid, and structured packing in metal or plastic; as well as tower internals for distillation, absorption, stripping, and extraction columns.

Your Job

Within our corporate office in Vimercate (MB), Koch-Glitsch is seeking a Process Engineer to complement and strengthen our Process & Technology team.

In this role, you will act as the primary technical contact for customers and will be responsible for executing detailed process studies and developing technical and commercial proposals for mass transfer equipment.

What You Will Do

• Hydraulic and fluid-dynamic design of mass transfer equipment
• Process modelling of distillation columns, absorbers, strippers, etc.
• Execution of technical feasibility studies and economic assessments
• Preparation of process and technical reports
• Development of technical and commercial proposals for mass transfer devices
• Revamp and energy-optimization studies, including process, hydraulic, and mechanical aspects
• Troubleshooting and performance assessments of process units and mass transfer equipment
• Preparation of key process documentation ( H&MB, datasheets, specifications, etc.)
• Participation in technical meetings with customers, including project discussions and presentations
• Cooperation and coordination with other Koch Engineered Solutions departments and functions

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemical Engineering
• Previous hands-on experience in Oil & Gas, refining, or related process industries
• Fluency in English and Italian, both written and spoken (additional languages are a plus)
• Solid university-level knowledge of mass-transfer unit operations (distillation, absorption, separation)
• Good communication skills, self-motivation, determination, and ability to work effectively in a team
• Proficiency within MS Office package
