Upstate Caring Partners seeks a Teacher Assistant to support classroom activities and assist the teaching team in planning and instruction. The role includes implementing IEPs, maintaining records, and promoting student safety under supervision.

Responsibilities include back-up teaching, collaborative activity planning, and ensuring accurate documentation while fostering student independence and well-being in a fast-paced program.

Competenze

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NYS Teaching Assistant Level I certification or proof of requirements submitted to NYSED Office of Teaching.
• NYS classroom teacher’s certificate or equivalent.
• Maintain valid Level I Teacher Assistant Certification.

Mansioni

• Provide assistance in coordinating individual and group activities in the classroom; act as back-up in absence of the teacher.
• Contribute to lesson planning.
• Provide individual and group instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Implement the students’ IEPs, lesson plans, and behavior plans.
• Assist the team in planning and implementation of classroom activities.
• Maintain records and charts.
• Ensure that documentation is accurate and communicates information clearly.
• Promote and oversee safety and well-being of students through procedures and equipment.
• Attend to personal and program needs that students cannot accomplish independently.
• Keep nursing team advised of medical and dietary concerns.
• Assist students in developing behavioral, social, money management, and hygiene skills.
• Complete and maintain First Aid, CPR certification and other trainings as required.
