Job summary

Caselton Clark is seeking an experienced Patent Paralegal for a 12-month maternity cover role in Milan, Italy, with option for remote work within Italy. The position involves handling EP and PCT filings and managing a global portfolio in collaboration with a dedicated IP team.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of Italian patent procedure experience, excellent English, and EPAC qualification is a strong plus. Flexible arrangements are available to suit Milan or remote work within Italy.

Patent Paralegal - Maternity Cover (12-Month Contract)

An established Italian IP consulting firm, renowned for its expertise spanning chemical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, biotech, and engineering sectors, is seeking an experienced Patent Paralegal to join its domestic patent team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

Key Responsibilities

• Patent Filings: Prepare and file European Patent (EP) and PCT applications for both domestic and international clients.
• Global Portfolio Management: Coordinate and manage patent filings worldwide through an established network of local agents.
• Attorney & Client Support: Assist clients and internal patent attorneys with all prosecution, filing, EP validations in Italy, and administrative procedures before the Italian Patent Office.
• Docketing & Deadlines: Monitor, track, and manage all prosecution deadlines efficiently.

Candidate Profile

• Experience: Around 3-5+ years of experience as a Patent Paralegal handling Italian patent procedure.
• Language Skills: Excellent written and spoken English.
• Technical Knowledge: Prior experience with foreign filings is beneficial.
• Certifications: EPAC (European Patent Administration Certificate) qualification is a strong advantage.
