Job summary

La Fosse is seeking a Network Administrator in Rome for a 12-month contract with a hybrid work setup (up to 3 days remote). The role focuses on configuring and supporting Cisco infrastructure, Meraki, and F5 load balancers, with strong emphasis on security and network performance.

You will work with IT, cybersecurity, and business teams, maintaining docs and automating recurring tasks. 6–12 years of experience in network administration is expected, with CCNA/CCNP and AWS certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• 6–12 years of network administration experience.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing.
• Experience with Meraki, F5 load balancers, and Firepower/AFM firewalls.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
• Cloud networking knowledge, AWS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Configure and support Cisco infrastructure (Nexus, Catalyst).
• Administer Cisco Firepower and F5 AFM firewalls.

• Configure IPsec VPN tunnels and monitor WAN performance.

Job description

Network Administrator – Rome (Hybrid) – 12-Month Contract

What you’ll be doing -

• Configuring and supporting Cisco infrastructure, including Nexus and Catalyst switches and routers
• Administering firewalls, including Cisco Firepower and the F5 BIG-IP AFM module
• Configuring and supporting F5 load balancers
• Administering Cisco Meraki solutions (switching, wireless and security)
• Configuring and supporting IPsec site-to-site VPN tunnels
• Monitoring WAN usage and network performance, and troubleshooting issues
• Providing first and second-line support, including coordination with vendors
• Reviewing logs and alerts and taking corrective action
• Maintaining technical documentation and configuration templates
• Contributing to network security projects, reviewing vulnerability and risk reports, and implementing controls
• Working with IT, business and cybersecurity teams to turn requirements into secure technical solutions, proposals and cost estimates
• Automating recurring operational tasks with scripting and automation tools
• Occasional on-call support on an exceptional basis

What you’ll need -

• At least 6 -12 years' experience in network administration
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco switching and routing
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco Meraki
• Proven experience with F5 load balancers
• Strong experience with Cisco Firepower and F5 AFM firewalls
• Solid knowledge of TCP/IP and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP
• Good understanding of cloud networking, ideally AWS (VPCs, routing, security groups, connectivity)

Nice to have -

• IPsec VPN experience
• Experience with network monitoring and performance analysis tools
• Experience in multi-vendor environments
• Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, Cisco Meraki, Cisco Security, AWS (Advanced Networking or Solutions Architect), ITIL Foundation, CompTIA Network+, CISSP, GIAC or Zero Trust
