Job summary

United ITS is seeking an experienced Network Engineer in Rome, Italy to configure and manage Cisco infrastructure, Meraki solutions, F5 load balancers, and security-focused network services. You will support VPNs, monitor performance, and collaborate with cybersecurity teams.

The role requires 5+ years in network administration, strong Cisco Meraki and Firepower experience, and ITIL-aligned service delivery. Hybrid work options and vendor coordination are part of the job.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years in network administration.
• Strong hands-on with Cisco switching/routing and Meraki.
• Experience with F5 load balancers and firewall tech (Firepower/AFM).
• Solid TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF/BGP) and WAN/LAN knowledge.
• Cloud networking awareness (AWS VPC, security groups).
• ITIL-based service management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Configure and support Cisco infrastructure (Nexus/Catalyst).
• Configure, support and administer Firepower and F5 AFM firewalls.
• Manage F5 load balancers and Meraki solutions (switching/wireless/security).
• Establish and maintain site-to-site IPsec VPNs.
• Monitor WAN performance, troubleshoot network issues.
• Provide 1st/2nd line support and vendor coordination.
• Review logs, perform corrective actions, and update docs.
• Collaborate with IT, business and cybersecurity teams.
• Implement security policies and automated, repeatable procedures.
