Job summary

Saipem, a global leader in engineering and construction for energy and infrastructure, seeks an NDT Engineer to lead non-destructive testing management for offshore and onshore projects. You will interpret codes, prepare procedures, and supervise qualification tests at sites worldwide.

Expect to contribute to multi-disciplinary teams, ensure quality standards, and travel abroad as projects require. Fluency in English and strong communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Materials/Industrial Production or Electronics.
• Minimum 5 years as an NDT Engineer in Oil & Gas.
• Certified in UT/RT/PAUT and familiar with DNV/ST-F101 and ASME codes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret codes, standards and contractual documents for NDT and welding disciplines.
• Prepare and verify NDT procedures (AUT, PAUT, TOFD, MUT, RT, MT, PT, VT).
• Witness and guide qualification tests at site for NDT personnel.
• Develop project specifications for subcontractors and ensure compliance.
• Communicate clearly with stakeholders and maintain confidential records.

Saipem Offshore Construction (SOC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saipem S.p.A. SOC brings together all operational activities in Italy related to fabrication, technical services, maintenance, and logistics, providing essential support for the execution of offshore construction and offshore wind projects.

Purpose of the position: As NDT Engineer, you will respond to the Non Destruct Test Management and be part of the Asset Based Services Business Line.

How can you support us? Here below your responsibilities:

• Skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents pertinent to the NDT and welding disciplines
• Preparation and verification of the adequate procedures in the specific NDT (AUT, PAUT, TOFD, MUT, RT, CR, RTR, MT, PT and VT) method
• Capable of selecting the method and techniques for a specific inspection
• Developing & update relevant project specifications to subcontractors and support them to comply with by performing NDT processes evaluation
• Witnessing (and guiding where necessary) procedures and operator qualification tests at site providing guidance to NDT technicians on onshore / offshore sites
• Supervising AUT/PAUT qualifications & other conventional NDT qualification processes according to DNV-ST-F101, ASME V codes and equivalent
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, or via e-mail, co-workers and subordinates as a representative of the company
• Ability to follow established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
• Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community

What are we looking for?

Education: Master's Degree/bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Materials/Industrial Production or Electronics

Experience: Minimum 5 years as a NDT Engineer within Oil&Gas industry

Technical Skills: Required as minimum qualifications and certifications:

• Pipeline and Subsea Modules (piping and structural) project experience required. At least 5 years’ experience in similar industry,
• Extensive technical and practical experience in pipeline, piping and structural engineering in the same or similar industry including experience in working in multi-disciplinary projects and multi-cultural teams.
• EN ISO Level 2 in UT, RT, MPI and PT
• PAUT training certified
• EN ISO Level 3 in UT is a plus
• Excellent technical and practical engineering skills and ability to consistently deliver quality, accurate and timely work to WorleyParsons and its clients.
• Competent use of relevant software such as MS Office Suite and ultrasonic specific software’s (ESBeamTool, CIVA, etc..).
• Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing).
