Job summary

ISTITUTO ITALIANO DI TECNOLOGIA seeks a Technician for the Nanomedicine Laboratory at the Center for Materials Interfaces (CMI@SSSA) in Pontedera, Italy. This fixed-term contract spans two years to support multidisciplinary research in nanomedicine and nanostructured materials.

The successful candidate will operate and maintain biological lab equipment, manage invertebrate colonies, assist in purchasing of consumables and equipment, and provide technical support to researchers and supervise

Qualifications

• Master degree in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Nanotechnology, Physics, or related fields or a similar discipline.
• Documented experience in mammalian cell cultures, micro- / nanofabrication.
• Good knowledge of the English language.
• Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong focus on stakeholder needs and expectations.

Responsibilities

• Take care and run the equipment available in the biological labs.
• Take care of the invertebrate colonies present in the lab.
• Handle purchasing of consumables and new equipment related to the biological labs.
• Provide technical assistance to the research and to the research projects.
• Provide technical assistance during the supervision of Ph.D. students, M.Sc. students, and research fellows.
