Job summary

ISTITUTO ITALIANO DI TECNOLOGIA in Genova is seeking a Mass Spec Technician for the Analytical Chemistry Facility. You will support omics workflows (proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics) using state-of-the-art MS and NMR tools in an open, international team.

The role requires a degree in Chemistry, hands-on LC-MS experience, and strong English communication. Full-time, permanent contract with a competitive gross salary and private health care.

THE ROLE

The Analytical Chemistry Facility (ACF) supports IIT research lines in the areas of life science and medicinal chemistry. The ACF is an open, collaborative, multicultural and multi-disciplinary group of people, working at the boundaries between analytical sciences, chemistry, biochemistry and biology. The Facility is equipped with state-of-the art Mass Spec (MS) and NMR instruments for the exploration of the chemical space.

We are currently seeking a MS technician to join the Team and support the omics activities of the Facility (proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics).

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• A Degree in Chemistry or closely related area.
• Deep knowledge of LC-MS based omics workflows and an extensive hands-on experience of both high and low resolution instruments.
• A proactive attitude and a results-oriented, problem-solving mindset.
• A good knowledge of English.
• Good interpersonal and communications skills and willingness to integrate in an international research team.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

• Previous experience in MALDI-MS
• Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment
• Possess Analytical Reasoning skills and a growth mindset

COMPENSATION PACKAGE

• A yearly gross salary ranging between 45.000,00 and 50.000,00, which may include a bonus option.
• Private health care coverage depending on your role and contract
