Siemens Energy in Italy is seeking a Design Engineer for MV/LV transformer stations to design and optimize both prefabricated and site-built substations for utilities, industry, and data centres. You will develop single line diagrams, protection schemes, and cable layouts to ensure reliable, cost-efficient solutions that meet international standards.

You will collaborate with sales, project management, and manufacturing teams to deliver scalable transformer stations while performing calculations

Competenze

Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
3–7+ years of experience in MV distribution systems and transformer stations.
Proficient with AutoCAD and EPLAN; experience with ETAP or DIgSILENT.
Structured, detail-oriented approach with cross-functional collaboration.
Experience with prefabricated substations is advantageous.
Proficient in written and spoken English and Italian.

Mansioni

Design MV/LV transformer stations (10–36 kV / 0.4–1 kV) and prepare single line diagrams, protection schemes, and cable layouts.
Specify components like transformers, MV switchgear, and LV switchboards; perform load flow, short-circuit, and voltage drop calculations.
Optimize layouts for footprint, cooling, accessibility, and safety; integrate enclosures and fire protection.
Ensure IEC standard compliance and support certification and type testing.
Collaborate with sales, project management, and suppliers; review drawings and provide clarifications.
