Job summary

Paynt Limited is seeking a Merchant Onboarding & Ongoing Due Diligence Officer to drive KYC, risk assessments, and compliance across ecommerce and POS/SoftPOS merchants in Italy. The role requires close collaboration with Relationship Managers to collect documentation and ensure regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Fluent Italian and professional English required.
• At least 3 years’ experience in acquiring, merchant onboarding and due diligence reviews.
• Knowledge of payments sector and Card Schemes is a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review merchant profiles per procedures, acceptance policies and regulations.
• Conduct KYC and merchant due diligence activities.
• Complete risk assessments of merchants’ business models.
• Review merchant records and update files as needed.
• Liaise with Relationship Managers to ensure complete KYC packages.
• Ensure Card Schemes requirements are met for prospective merchants.
• Contribute to onboarding streamlining projects and work with third-party monitoring tools.

Who We’re Looking For

We are experiencing great growth in the Italian market this year, and to support this momentum, we're on the lookout for a Merchant Onboarding & Ongoing Due Diligence Officer, who will drive essential KYC, risk assessments, and seamless compliance processes for our e-commerce and POS/SoftPOS merchants.

What You’ll Do

• Review Merchant business profiles in line with Company’s procedures, acceptance policies and Scheme regulations, using all accessible tools and systems.
• Conduct KYC and merchant business due diligence activities.
• Complete risk assessments of merchants’ business model.
• Review merchant alerts and update merchant files accordingly.
• Ensure ongoing monitoring and maintenance of merchant files, revisit and process information related to merchant changes (products, services, business models, etc.).
• Review pre-approval applications.
• Ensure that existing merchants’ records are up to date as required by company’s procedures, acceptance policies and regulations.
• Liaise with Relationship Managers, ensuring full Merchant application and KYC package is collected, providing advice on necessary documentation.
• Ensure that relevant Card Schemes recommendations and requirements with regard to the prospective Merchant are met.
• Participate in any ongoing team projects that relate to streamlining onboarding.
• Work with 3rd party monitoring solutions.

What You Bring

• Fluent Italian, professional level of English.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in acquiring and merchant onboarding and due diligence reviews.
• (+) Knowledge of the payments sector and Card Schemes’ requirements will be considered as an advantage.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
